Why Tifton is hard on windshields
I‑75 through Tift County carries Florida-bound traffic and a constant stream of semis, and the gravel that comes off those loads does not care how new your truck is. Add US 82 running east to west and US 41 through town and you have three heavy-truck corridors crossing in one county.
The US 319 commute makes it worse. Tift County is the top destination for Colquitt County residents driving to work, so a lot of the same vehicles run that stretch twice a day, five days a week. That is a lot of exposure to loose rock on a two-lane.
Then there is the ag side. Tift County is called the Plant Capital of the World, and vegetables alone account for the majority of its farm gate value. Packing sheds, produce haulers, and irrigation crews all run equipment with glass that breaks, and most of it cannot leave the operation during season.
ABAC and the commuter run
Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College is the largest residential two-year college in Georgia, which means several thousand student vehicles parked around Tifton — and a lot of first windshields. If you are on campus and cannot get across town during class, we will come to the lot.

If your vehicle was built in roughly the last decade, there is a camera looking through your windshield running lane keep assist, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, and adaptive cruise. Move the glass that camera aims through and its calibration is no longer correct.
Plenty of installers hand the keys back and hope no warning light comes on. We do the recalibration — static with targets in the shop, dynamic on the road, or both, depending on what the manufacturer requires for your vehicle.
